Nudity and Nature

The old taboo about being naked. It is still going strong here in America but it always makes me wonder where this originated from. While it appears that some religions forbid being nude in any public form. Others seem to embrace being nude and use it to add to the religious experience.

Personally I find it odd that so much concern is given to this subject when in reality every one has been seen naked by at least the doctor who delivered you. Now some will say that is different as there is no chance for sexual arousal at such a young age. While that may be true but it does bring up another good question. Why would sexual arousal be a some thing bad?

Again I think this is a religious thing for a lot of people. They have been told that any feelings towards any one else is bad but arousal can be caused by animal instincts. In the end we are just smart animals with baser instincts that still effect parts of our body. I don't think that's any thing to be ashamed of as it is just part of who we are as a species. Not to mention the fact that for the most part modern bathing suits are just barely covering any thing. So whats the point of having them on?
